Bologna, Italy

Seems that we have been travelling a lot recently. And we have. It is our passion & love to experience the world as much as we can.

This trip was a family affair heading for Italy. It is hard to beat the Italians, both in style and taste and there is something special about the language and feel of anything Italian.

Our holiday was mostly spent in the stunning Tuscan hills just south of Florence at Norcenni-Girasole campsite which we can truly recommend to anyone fancying a bit of ‘camping’.

The last day we headed for Bologna in order to catch an early-am flight back to the UK and therefore got a few hours to indulge in some fab food & wine in what is the slow food capital of Italy and the world.

By all means, head to the little streets just east of Piazza Maggiore and sample some antipasti over a glass of wine but if you want to hang out with the locals then we really recommend the old food market, Mercato delle Erbe where you can either eat indoors at the Altro! restaurant or carry on through and join the cool locals for an  afterwork-beer in the square. Couldn’t have been a better ending to an amazing holiday.
